Today we celebrate another awesome women in our orthodontic community, Dr. Karindeep Chima. Dr. Chima, an orthodontist based in San Francisco, was born and raised in Yuba City, California. Dr. Chima grew up on a peach farm in Northern California and learned to drive a tractor at the age of 13. Although neither of her parents were dentists, they instilled a strong work ethic in their daughter, which she carried with her throughout her life. After graduating from UOP undergrad, Dr. Chima attended Harvard Dental School and completed her orthodontic residency at Harvard as well. She practiced in Los Altos for 10 years before moving to San Francisco, where she has been practicing for the past five years.
When asked why she pursued orthodontics, Dr. Chima revealed that her own positive experience with orthodontic treatment and her admiration for her own orthodontist inspired her to pursue a career in the field. Dr. Chima is passionate about transforming the lives of her patients, giving them the confidence to smile and live their best lives in much the same way her orthodontist did for her.
As a mother of two young children and a professional, Dr. Chima faces the challenge of balancing work and home life. However, she perseveres and is committed to being a role model to her children, inspiring and motivating them to reach their full potential.
One of Dr. Chima’s most memorable and rewarding orthodontic experiences was completing a treatment on a severely autistic child who was thrilled to have straight teeth. The case was also one of her most difficult, but Dr. Chima’s dedication, patience, and compassion resulted in a happy patient and a successful outcome.
Dr. Chima’s favorite orthodontics memory was receiving her white coat at Harvard Dental School, an experience that solidified her passion for the field and her commitment to excellence.
In celebrating Women History Month, we honor and celebrate Dr. Karindeep Chima. We wish her ongoing success and fulfillment in her career and personal life.
